Mahalo Steph. Looks like another variety I’ll have to try to graft 😁

I’ve grown Ziemann’s Pink for about 25 years. I find it less susceptible to splitting than most of the cvs we have. It is a high latex fruit. The color looks more ruddy orange to me than pink but I’m willing to embrace pink if people tell me it’s there. It’s generally considered the best jakfruit most people around here have had.
[snip] I would like to graft a couple other varieties onto the mini cado tree but will this “dwarf” interstock
produce slower growing grafts or will the other grafts just dominate the mini cado and grow to a typically
large avocado tree size?
How small a tree are you aiming for? You never said...
The smallest avocado I've read about is 'Wurtz,' considered a true dwarf avocado, which at
maturity reaches only 15 ft tall. is that about a large as you'd want your dwarf avocado?
The 'Wurtz' dwarf might be a 'starting point' to graft onto.

Inverted grafting has been tossed around a bit over the years for its potential dwarfing effects on avocado. Might be worth a shot.
I haven't tried doing that, but I know that the conclusion of UC researchers after many decades of trying to find a dwarfing rootstock for avocados was that it's not possible. The vigor of the scion is generally controlled by the scion itself, so while you can use cultural practices to limit size or growth rate (less fertilizer, less water, more aggressive pruning, etc.), it's not something you can control via rootstock, other than in minor ways (maybe it will grow a little slower but still reach the same mature size).
But who knows, maybe they just didn't find the right one, or the right combination of interstems.
Not to throw in a wrench in your plans, but I just tried at Frankie's a Mit32. WOW. Idk about growth habit, but that's another must grow avo.
Ooooooh interesting.... I need a small tree though
went dyslexic. MIT13 not 32.
Anyway, going to graft scions of MIT13 and Yani on a friend's seedlig avo trees in Pearl City this weekend. We'll see how they go. So long as you're on it with pruning, can always keep it manageable. CHeck out Ken Love's stuff. All under 10ft.
