anyone tried this on their mango?  what is the clear and red bottle?

It's fermented fish sauce used in north eastern Thailand. It smells very bad to westerners and taste very strong. they put the fish with salt and let it ferment for few months. Many would get sick instantly, but over there it is used daily and is thought a delicacy.
It's like you would use fish fertilizer. But the price it high so it doesn't make any sense.

If that brown liquid is indeed "fish sauce" that SE Asians use in their cooking, and I suspect it is, then that is one mighty uninformed practice!! Fish sauce is mainly fermented fish and salt (i.e., sodium chloride, and lots of it). One sure way of killing your mango tree !!!

The brownish liquid in the bottle is fish emulsion, like a fertilizer.  It is really concentrated that you could probably smell it 30 feet away when applied. It is not the fish sauce that I have been using all my life on daily basis.

Good to know that it's not fish sauce, which I regularly use in papaya salad and other Thai curries. Do you have the ingredients of the fish emulsion ?

I don't have the ingredients of fish emulsion, but you can buy it at the home depot, lowes, or walmart. They are just a little bit pricey. I love the papaya salad with beef strips on top.

Thats concentrated. If applied directly to ur mango tree, u'll harm the tree & high chances harming the tree or worst death.

If u were to use fish sauce or what we call Patis in tagalog. Dilute it with water. I'd say 1 tsp per 1 gal. Again, thats jst an opinion.

my mom was telling me that her friends's friend actually got the eating bottle of fish sauce and diute it with water. 

Anyone tried the eating fish sauce before on their mango tree?

I understand some Thai and she says nam pla, which means fish sauce.
I traveled to that area quite often. I know what it is, I have a friend who is in business with this over there.
This fish sauce is not the same you find in supermarkets in US. That is standard fish sauce.
This is fermented fish sauce found in Issan region only.
