Lisa and dream both self pollinating?
« on: May 03, 2019, 07:05:11 AM »
I have a Lisa Atemoya and a dream Cherimoya, are both self pollinating?  I’ll probably hand pollinate anyway, just curious.

Both my Lisa and dream set fruit without hand pollination.
I have been trying to hand pollinate this year mainly because I have a Tim
that has never set a fruit. I go out at night with a headlamp and when I
tap on the open flowers, pollen doesn't pour out on the plate like the youtube video
suggests. I do find small black beetles falling out frequently which must be good.
I also wanted to get more evenly spaced fruit. Last year my dream had clumps
of 3 fruit that didn't end up getting very large, Bruce have you checked your trees?
Both my Lisa and dream are getting loaded with small fruit. I am not sure if I have even
been successful pollinating? I see the flowers with the broken pedal I marked and some
open up as if males? If the fruit sets I assume the flowers wouldn't open? Check close
they may be already loaded with fruit
