Jaboticabas in flower are a great sight. This morning the perfume aroma was powerful and the buzz and hum of insects visiting the flowers filled the air.

Looks like the tree is almost leafless! Can you induce such massive bloom by removing lots of leaves?

I am a lazy gardener and have no irrigation because 2500mm/yr should be enough even if it is seasonal. The last 5 months still should have about 300mm instead of 25 mm and it has been hot.The 3 sabaras I have dropped most of their leaves as Thera observed and 8mm of rain 2 weeks ago made buds come out.100 mm fell last night in a storm that was wild with lightning crashing and 50mm dell in one period of 30 minutes. This morning the sabara flowers were open and the trees went from zeros to heroes in hours. That is not a big flower display for sabara just the garden variety but it is visible. My grimal puts on a better display and the sparkling beetles, butterfies and native bees party in the flowers.

The grimal of mine had a sorry crop 2 weeks ago due to dry weather.
For a while now the humidity has made the air like syrup and it takes the sting out of people and they drag their sorry asses around.Temps for the forecast week will remain 34/35c maxes and minimums at 24c to 26c but it feels hotter.I'm a bit over it but it isn't on top of me.

Very nice, I am  sure the fruit will be very big and very sweet with a lot of pulp,  because the flower have enough space to growing, when the tree have many flowers the fruit is small

Hey Mike, gorgeous tree...you should install a bee hive and get some jab honey...i have heard it's pretty top notch.  ;)

Good to hear you finally got a bit of wet stuff! We've got that slow moving low off the coast. It was supposed to sit on top of us for a week, but moved out to sea, so while the islands are copping a proper deluge we are just getting a patchy trickle. Its supposed to be a long dry summer so the more we all get early on in the growing period, the better everything should go.

That top photo looks like the tree is fairly large. Can you take a pulled back shot so we can see the size of it?  Thanks for the photos!
