First time grow pineapple
« on: September 26, 2020, 11:46:27 PM »
I think I will have fresh pineapple not from store to try this year.  I planted this one from the pineapple I brought from the store about 2 years ago.  Totally neglect, no fertilizer, maybe water it one time a week and I saw this today.

That's encouraging!
I have a couple of those Del Monte pineapples too... and they are doing well.
Hopefully soon they will look as nice as yours!

Thats great! When I tried to plant pineapple, unfortunately it rotted !  :-[

I think the key to avoid rotting is not to water too much in the beginning.

Pink Turtle What is your soil
I find Just for me a Peat moss perlite

Wonder what you think is best

Every time I look at mine it is dug up on one side I AM serious dug up every time over & over again
I usually go into a tantum , and kick, and screem myself followed by relief , and sleep.
No one beats me anymore except myself .

It is planted on the ground, no special soil, just regular ground soil.  Didn't add anything.

Nice! Homegrown pineapples taste so good. I let my pineapples get completely golden yellow before I harvest.
