Peanut Butter Fruit flowering but not fruiting
« on: May 19, 2020, 08:39:13 PM »
My girlfriend's Peanut Butter Fruit tree has flowered two years in a row but is not setting fruit. Any ideas or suggestions to get it to fruit? Thanks!

Mine has been flowering almost continually for 3 years. Two fruit last fall that never matured. Looking for a solution as well.

I have 2 trees and get hundreds of fruit every year.
I really like the fruit. I let them melt in my mouth and it's just like
a spoonful of peanut butter. Allot of people don't like it?
My wife and kids don't like the fruit. My oldest  son said it reminds him
of boiled peanuts. He likes boiled peanuts but not this fruit?

So maybe you need cross pollination?

Cross pollination never hurts but one of my trees produced heavy before the other one
started to flower. I notice my tree sets better when we get more humid from rainy season

i think its probably the humidity as well. the few fruit that showed up did so after an unusually early rainy week.

but i am trying cross pollination. will have flowers open for two species soon.

Mine (from Logees)  flowered profusely shortly after I received it and a dozen or so fruit held.  It is okay.  It does taste like peanut butter but is lacking the fat/protein satisfaction that peanuts have.  If I can keep it small in a container I will hold on to it as a novelty.

Mine is in a greenhouse, only one so no cross pollination
