Disease on my Apple Tree
« on: February 06, 2016, 12:13:02 AM »
I am asking how to treat this issue with my Apple Tree.  Some of the leaves are Yellow with black spots.
I was going to plant a Jujube tree near this apple, but now I am thinking it may not be a good idea.
Thanks Carol

I would strip off all the leaves and see how the new leaves look when it wakes up.

That is a good idea - I'll take off the diseased leaves.  I was reading that worm castings sprayed on the tree is anti-fungal.  Also someone
suggested immunox which I may have.
I wouldn't have thought of stripping the leaves.  Great idea,
Carol

if it's fungal, (and it looks that way) try
"plant doctor" from organicide
or
"agri-fos"

as far as i can tell, they're the same thing with different labels.

both of these are a mixture of mono and di potassium salts of phosphoric acid.  when applied as a foliar spray or a root drench, they act as a systemic anti-fungal.  i suggest a light foliar application once a week for a month to build up a level in the plant, followed by a light application monthly or bi-monthly to maintain the level.

Thanks, I just ordered the Plant Doctor from Home Depot.  Easy.

Will start the regiment this as soon as I receive it.

Are you sure that's just not last years leaves? Most apples are dormant now (even mine in Zone 9 CA).

Did that come from new growth this year (a problem) or old hanging on leaves (not a problem)?
