Happy new yearAnyone has ever tried grafting Lychee on Alupag or longan?
Quote from: Roy-Ind on December 31, 2012, 10:28:11 AMHappy new yearAnyone has ever tried grafting Lychee on Alupag or longan?Lychee and longan can be cross grafted. But that doesn't mean that it's easy. FYI lychee and longan can even be cross pollinated to form hybrid fruits.I believe that alupag has been grafted onto longan, but not 100% on that one.
Lychees are hard enough to graft onto other lychees let alone other species.Grafted lychees are pretty rare here.Only a modest % of longans and rambutans are grafted as compared to marcotted specimens.Grafted rambutans are more highly valued than marcotted specimens as they produce sturdier trees.
lychee and longans can form hybrids? are any of them any good?
