Tony I saw your other post asking me about gro power.  I use both the 8 6 8 and 3 12 12.  It just depends what you are going for really and what plants.

8 6 8 is good for most everything.  But once your trees are already large and very fruitful you can switch to 3 12 12.  The 8 6 8 just has more nitrogen so it will make more vigorous growth if that's what you want.  I use it about 4 times a year.  I'm going to put out 40lbs on Monday so it gets rained in next week.  Then hit it again in a couple months and on...

Small doses more often is better than lots all at once.  Easy on the lychee too, they are sensitive to fertilizers.  For lychee I use sulfer or iron sulfate also.  Or cottonseed meal.  They need more acidic soil than other plants.

Thank you Brad for responding to my questions.    do you have specific ratio that you follow?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by ratio?  Amount to use?

I just use fistfuls depending on the size of the plant.  Full size tree I would throw three or 4 big fistfuls at, a newly planted tree just a couple spoon fulls.  I spread it in the mulch and water it in or do it before it rains.
