Title: Mango seed germination absent sprout
Post by: Future on September 15, 2018, 04:51:54 PM
I potted up mango seeds in scores late July.  >90% have skyrocketed. Went to reuse the few pots showing no activity and 6 of the 9 actually had viable seeds still there. All had roots, were green/white and one had roots all the way out the pot.  But no six weeks and no stem sited.

Have you seen this before?

I’ve had some seeds that sent out roots and no top until after a long delay. I was going to reuse the pot and checked the seeds and found the same thing you did. Some of the seeds had a top sprout but was damaged by insects or disease and died back to the point I couldn’t see the sprout. These sprouts that died back eventually sprouted a new top.
