I should have fruit available Hilo side if you are interested in purchasing. I also have coconuts if that tickles your fancy.

Its a shoot! It may be okay if you leave it that way, but I would gently remove it and replant it face up.

Very awesome! I just recently found what I think is a mountain yam. I will post some pictures once it grows a little more.

I agree on the sticky part. Bananas are a very important staple. I plan on doing some propagation on my Fe'i once I can get a large corm from her. Will take to pictures and try to document it.

Micro propagation. Very easy to do at home.

I am shocked. There is so much water coming from the sky!!!

There are more hard spots than I was hoping. Guess we need to see how fast it drains.

7
Seems so. I will take some photos when I go out in a bit to check on things. There is a definite river flowing down my drive way.

I am a little worried. But we are supposed to get high winds from the south. We have a very large iron wood that needs to be taken down near the North side of our cabin. Other than that I'm not too worried about the yard. I dont have many things planted here yet in our new zone. The bananas and coconuts will love the rain.

You could always ask one if the people who go and exploit the other countries and sell illegal seeds. Your choice. I guess I am just lucky enough to live on the lava rock with Oscar. Fresh seeds baby!

Here is the one I've been eating.

Planted it in a large hole and its taken off.

Is that a racial slur I see? I sure hope its a type-o.

14
How tall is the tree ? Just take matter into your own hands and free climb it and remove any material you don't want. Then you can all drink the rewards.

15
Yay! Glad you will be able to continue to provide for the community with your rare collection of food.

The fruit is great. One of my top favorites for sure. Its like a musky catelope/papaya with a mild mango flavor. Also can be slightly fibrous like a mango.

Yuummm. I need to plant more trees.

I lost my spotted variety but I still have the purple ones. I just toss the seeds we don't eat in random places in the yard.

Could very well be a rot caused by fungus.

Any idea what this could be? Bought it at a farmers market. White flesh. I was told maybe a Mountain yam but I havnt had them before. I can take more pictures when it grows full leaves.

I don't typically support Wally-World. But I did find a cheap dwarf Miracle fruit once. Its been over a year and its hardly grown. Very neat find.

It is also edible. But I would prefer to eat better types of Fungi.

Proper pruning. We keep ours really small by pruning it down after every big harvest. They fruit much better this way as well.

This is how I prep my nanners. I have to make sure there are no critters in there.

The Cuban Red is definitely a slow growing tree. The only thing that takes longer would be Fe'i. The Cuban is not worth growing in my opinion.
