The inga vulpina seeds are edible?

I read somewhere that Inga seeds needs to be roasted before they are edible...

Yes i thought to roast or boil it... i eat a bit and i'm alright... but the flavour was not great...

Out of about 250 species of inga there are only a handful that have edible seeds, and i don't think vulpina is on that list. Most are toxic, so do NOT eat, even after roasting.

No seeds yet. The vulpina, unlike all the other ingas i have, is very slow growing. No flowers yet.

Well it can be toxic but not deadly... i'm still here and well...

Yes toxic is different than deadly. But i guess if you eat enough toxic can become deadly.
BTW most beans (fabeaceae) family are toxic. The edible beans are the exception. And even the edible almost always have to be cooked to become edible.

Hi, I am new to this forum and just learning about the Inga plants.  I have ordered a couple and plan to eat the cooked seeds, I believe this is ok for the Inga Fuellis but I am not clear re: cooking and eating the vulpina?

Hi! I really don't now. I try a bit raw and didn't feel anything special. It seems it's toxic, but i don't know if it continue to be toxic if cooked...

OK, mine are only about 3 years old. Some of my other ingas, like edulis, fruiting after only 2 years.
