I saw the fruit I posted of the Marcus Pumpkin, it had no fibers. The person who grows this tree said it is creamy, sweet, and tastes good. You must have had a bad one. The inside of the large fruit is yellow, like a Hass, but much more flesh to eat.

Sounds good, now I just need to get a large enough rootstock to graft some good ones.

Lujan might be my hardiest jabo. I have a couple in 3 gallons that actually thrive outside during my
winter. Along with my Oberas, they are the earliest to put on new growth in mid to late winter.
Followed by Sabara in late winter. My Grimals, reds and phitranthas struggle through the cold and
are just now budding. I should note my winter lows are mostly in the low 40's with a couple upper

Has anyone tried this Mihrio mandarin?  CCPP says it's seedy then shows pics of a seedless fruit??
They need to clean up their conflicting info and broken links on their website.

Today I got my first grafted Annona plant in the form of an African Pride Atemoya (Annona × atemoya). I discovered after I brought it home, there was a hole in the bark below the graft. Is this cause for concern? Will the tree outgrow it?

Then I guess there is still hope. Time to play the waiting game and wish each other the best of luck at grafting it from now until late summer! 😁

I went to a CRFG member's house to pick up my Marcus Pumpkin cuttings and he has 3 large lucuma trees. At least one had fruits, the trees are tall (over 20 ft) so its hard to see what the fruits look like. Maybe when I go back there I will get up on the 10ft ladder and try to get a photo of the fruit to show.

Anyone know how easy it is to graft the tree to a seedling?

I might go over to Alex's place and get a scion wood from him if he has the moist variety that you guys like. If you know which variety is the best tasting let me know and I might check with Alex. I'm not really into lucuma, just checking for Aastair really.

The person who lives here in Fullerton said I can take a few cuttings since we are trading right now.

When I looked up and saw his fruit on this large tree, it seemed to be the pointy tip fruit. Like the first one in the photo above, not the SD fruit.

They seem pretty easy to graft. Maybe similar to citrus or avocado. I had 3/3 succeed a couple years ago in my passive greenhouse. I haven't grafted any in ground yet. Nate at Wildlands did a bunch last year, so he might have better info.

What are the Maui mulberries like? Never heard of them.
I originally got the mulberry from ebay from Hawaii and they called it Maui.
It is a smaller mulberry very sweet and this year it was the earliest to put out
fruit in my collection by a month. It is a very clean tree in humid Florida and a
heavy producer. A customer came by and tried the fruit and bought cuttings.
It also roots fairly easy

Tropical Fruit Discussion / What is going on with the leaves?

Orange Sherbet has a bunch of leaves that look like this top side and underside. I only sprayed copper once months before this happened. Is this anthracnose or Bacterial black spot? It's also affecting some of the new buds. Florida 9B interior
