« on: September 08, 2018, 07:15:50 PM »
Hi all! Just got my 1st avo tree (CATALINA) and I cant find anywhere the TYPE OF FLOWER (A or B) of this variety. Does anyone know? Is there a way to tell visually?

THANKS!

According to CATIE avocado authority Jorge A. Morera, author of El Aguacate, Catalina flower type is "A".

Thanks for the quick reply Doug!

I couldn't find Jorge's book anywhere online. Do you know where i can read up (English or Spanish) a bit more on the CATALINA variety? Id like to learn more about how to best care for it.

I would also like to know if there is a way to visually tell between type A & B avocado flowers?

THANKS!

Thanks for the link Jack!

I couldn't find in the database (or anywhere else I looked) if the CATALINA was a self pollinator. Any insight on this?

THANKS!
