Tropical Fruit Discussion / Suggestions of varieties to topwork a graham mango to?

I found out I am not super fond of a Graham against it being heavily recommended when buying it. I would like the topwork the tree after it fruits this season.

I have the following varieties:

Florigon, Pickering, Rosigold, Nam Doc Mai, Keitt

I would like something that fits into the above varieties from a timing/season theme, relatively disease resistant, and a medium-ish height tree as it is in my front yard on the side of my driveway and will eventually overlap the neighbors yard. Something that isnt super colorful would be suggested as well due to it being in the front, even though it is 20 feet from the road we all know what the 2-legged thieves do...

FWIW my good friend has these varieties so would avoid as suggestions since we share fruit:

Carrie, Lemon Zest

I enjoy all of the varieties listed here, aside from the Graham (I don't like the "spicy" scent/taste that much). and enjoy most mango varieties i have come across taste-wise

Citrus General Discussion / Greening? Old fading leaves? Nutrient Deficiency? All of the above?

Afraid this is "all of the above" and that this persian lime has greening.

West Coast of FL, from a cutting, in ground roughly 2 years. Have had it on imidicloprid treatment off and on to give it half a chance between aphids thrips psillids and leafminers but not diligently enough for it to be psillid free.

Worried about the seemingly color inversion on the fruit pictures and mottling of the leaves. Sometimes "old" citrus leaves look mottled especially if nutrient deficient which has prompted this post instead of an immediate axe and disposal. Thanks for the expert opinions ahead of time.

I have a naval orange and a Honey Murcott and various potted sour citrus that don't seem to have this same issue/coloration.

Do fruit fly typically attack mulberry?

I have a potted 'dwarf black mulberry' that is in fruit and am noticing very tiny worm-like creatures crawling on the surface of the ripe fruit. There doesn't really seem to be any damage to the fruit themselves and the pests come off with a rinse of water easily which has me wondering if they are indeed fruit fly or something else.

Anyone have an idea what it may be or what creatures may typically be found on or around ripe black mulberry fruit? I've tried googling and can't really find anything conclusive other than that 'fruit fly don't typically attack mulberry' but who knows if it is accurate or not.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Caloosa Rare Fruit Exchange plant sale tomorrow 4/13

I am due to head up to Tampa tomorrow morning and was planning on stopping by this sale tomorrow morning. However, information on it is rather scarce (I can only find a time/date and location) and I'd like to know generally if its worth stopping by as it will put some pressure on my schedule to get up to Tampa. Are any members on this board that may be able to say what may be available or any general information about the sale?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / yard tour

First time posting pics of my humble yard. Everything in ground has been in around 1 year or longer. Forgive general weedyness, in process of re mulching and weeding, life been a bit busy the past year and a half. Sorry for the orientation of the pics if sideways no idea how to rotate them on this tablet since it does that automatically in the viewer

Rosigold mango. Lost about 1 doz fruits in this windy spring, 3 left.

Sweetheart lychee

Florida hass avocado. Holding 2 small fruit. Had to chop down a bit of the tree in the background to allow more winter light in.

Ruby supreme guava, potted.

New addition, jaboticaba in a pot. Adam's love of these plants inspired me to pick one up.

Various items in pots, fig - a few varieties, blueberries some not shown citrus.

Rainforest plum seedlings about 6 mo old (thanks oscar!). Some sugar apple as well.

Pickering mango, dripping with fruit. About 5 and a half feet tall and as wide.

Sapodilla, beleive it is a tikal.

Cotton candy berry, jamaican cherry.

Sugar apple coming out of dormancy, green var seedling.

Nam doc mai. 2nd flower, none set first time.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Jaboticaba root suckering

I searched around but couldn't find a direct answer to this - I have a fairly large Jaboticaba in a pot that has yet to fruit. It is starting to put up root suckers - should they be removed or no - assuming remove but I am new to growing Jaboticaba.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / wanted: Hong Kong Orchid (bauhinia)

So not exactly fruit, but I am looking for a Hong Kong Orchid tree as my wife is fond of them and I am trying to re-landscape the front of my house in pinks and purples.

Located in Cape Coral, could pick up relatively small specimen but lack a truck so if necessary would pay for delivery of a larger specimen.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Glenn mango snapped in the wind

I came home from work today to find the top of my 'Glenn' mango laying on the ground.. the graft union had partially snapped. It was staked with a stake close to the trunk of the tree, but the ground became so saturated the stake pulled up and I guess a strong gust snapped it. There was about 1/8th an inch of bark still attached, with the rest of the graft breaking in a clean but rough pattern.

I did the following:

1) re-staked the tree, preserving the strip of bark that remained in tact
2) cut a piece of garden hose into two halves, and place it over the wounded area on both sides, then wrapped nylon ties over the area until it was secure
3) wrapped that area in plastic
4) pruned about 2 feet off the top of the tree.

It seems sturdy, i'm wondering.. is there any hope of recovery? Should i cut off more foliage? after the 2 feet i removed its about 4 ft tall with a few 2 foot long scaffold branches. I planted this about 7 months ago and it's been a real champ at growing, I'd hate to lose it.

I'd add pictures but I already did the "repair" so I don't want to undo it, if it would help seeing the completed 'repair' or shape of the tree I can take some. Thanks for the help!
