Ok...answer to some questions.
Hasn't fruited in two years and it hasnt flowered either in two years. I assumed it was the disease. Here is a pic. I live near the saltwater as I live in the Keys. I have a Pickering right beside it that is fruiting. I have been cutting it back a lot but maybe I'll just let it grow from now on? Thanks.

Been fighting Anthracnose for two years with no fruit production on a seven year old Valencia Pride that used to produce good in South Florida (Key Largo). I've cut it all out several times and endlessly spray copper fungacide. Every few weeks it pops up again. Was told by a green thumb in neighborhood that I am fighting a losing battle and shoukd kill it and plant another tree because once it gets infected, it's a death sentence.
What do you guys think? If I do kill it can I replant in same area? My space for full sun is limited.

Have a 7 year old Valencia Pride that stopped producing the last two years. Last year I noticed black spot fungus all over the leaves. I treated it with Copper and thought that would do it. Ok...this year it was still full of it and I read online I should have cut it out and also used Copper. So...I did. This year during bloom season (mine wasn't blooming). Cut about 50% of the tree back, everywhere I could see fungus. My problem is it keeps coming back and I keep cutting out. I keep spraying every month.
Should I just cut it back to the stump and let it grow again? Any suggestions?
Here are a couple pics.
Thanks

Thanks. I posted last year and was told it was fungus.
Anyway, i have been reading that copper spray doesnt kill fungus but prevents it so you need to cut all diseased areas from tree even after treating.
Is that true?

I am in South Florida. I had a fungus last season so I sprayed it with Copper. I only did it once, thinking that was enough. Anyway, this season my leaves still look like fungus but my tree put out new growth over the fall and winter. I also noticed I am not blooming and I should be. It's a 7 year old good producing tree. Sooo....I sprayed it again with Copper. Then I was told from a local that I need to keep repeating it once a week until it is cured. I have sprayed it twice so far. Black is still on the leaves and still no blooms.
My question is...how do I know when I should stop spraying the Copper and the tree is cured? Will the black disappear from the existing leaves? Also...should I forget about a bloom this year? Is the damage done for this season?
Thanks

I am in South Florida. Looks like my Velncia Pride not blooming again. Didnt bloom last year. Before that it produced good. Any help from you guys? All the Mangos in neighborhood are blooming. Also...my 4 year old pickering is blooming but not my 4 year Carrie...which looks light green to me.
Little info... both of the VP and Carrie got a black fungus in fall of 2021 and I treated with copper.
Anyway first pic is of VP. Second pick is of Carrie and Pickering side by side.
Thanks

I never spray anything around the area at all. It's not a "yard" but more of a woody area that I have cleared out.

Hmmmmm....maybe that's it. I think it's sunlight bit it could be root competition. I was thinking about trying to find a better spot with more sunlight and moving them but maybe I'll just wait. They just don't seem to be growing at all....but are staying green.

I've tried trimming all I m comfortable with. They aren't in a "forest" per say, but they have tall trees all around them which makes the sunlight hard to get through. But I have cleared all around them, on my property.

I have a couple small Mango trees (Kent and ValCarrie) that came in a 7 Gal pot. I planted them in a shady area surrounded by bigger trees I am not allowed to cut down because I ran out of room. They are staying alive and are green but are not putting out new growth after almost a year.
Anything I can feed them to make up for low sunlight area?

Here is another pic of another Mango Tree. With all the rain...do you think it's fungus?

Sooo...is there anything I should do? Here is another pic on my other tree that is 5 years old and a good producer. Btw..the trees affected are a Valencia Pride and a Carrie.
Thanks guys

Anthracnose or burns from fertilizer or spray or lack of water.
I haven't fertilized in about 4 years and we have been flooded with rain for months here in the Keys. Any other ideas?
Thanks

Look at these leaves? Two of my trees look like this? I haven't fertilized in about 4 months and we have got a lot of rain. I am in Keys. Should I be concerned?

Just wondering if this looks normal or should I be concerned? Thanks

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Help me pick which Mango tree to buy?

Thanks guys. I ended up buying a Val-Carrie blend. I looked at some reviews and it seems like it would suit my taste well as well as grow good in my area.
Thanks guys  :)

I feed them twice a day. I keep them full so they don't eat my fruit. They still do but I get a bunch without bite marks.
Also...pick the fruit before full ripeness and ripen in bag. Squirrels seem to bite only when ripe.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Help me pick which Mango tree to buy?

I live in the Florida Keys. Getting ready to buy another Mango tree. I already have a Valencia Pride that fruits well and I love. I also have young Pickering, Carrie and Kent. I had a Glenn that just caught a disease and died. It died young before it produced.

The sweeter the better. I was going to buy an Alphonso but the grower said they don't produce well in my area. Soo.....help me decide.  Should I get another Valencia (which I love) or another Glenn (which I hear good things about but don't know)?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Mangos with critter bites. Cut around?

Do you guys simply cut around a squirrel bite from a mango if there is plenty of untouched meat left? I have been. Will I die a slow and horrible death  ;D

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Do you prune young Mango trees?

Do you prune Mango trees before they have fruited? If so...how to prune them? Hollow out the inside like you would a more older tree? Thanks

Even if it makes roots, its not long for the world.   Dont waste your time or the hormones.

For mulberries, the Australian white aka green must be grafted.
Do you know why it wouldn't work? Just curious because I couldn't find any articles about it online. All I saw was videos of people doing it and growing trees but they never reported back about fruit production.
