Citrus General Discussion / A lot of you probably remember...
« on: May 16, 2019, 09:24:18 AM »
I lost my rott Athena back in 2010. I found her grand daughter & named he Cerra. Cerra had a great life, but we lost her this past March to some type of mass in her liver. It really hit me hard, as you know dogs are like family. Well, since I always need a Rott in my life we found our new kid. Meet Bella ( I named her Bella after the UFO song Belladonna, it came on the radio as we were going to pick her up). Her dad was imported from Hungary & is a champion.

My girl Cerra RIP & Peppa our Pitt.

Cerra & my grandson on the beach.

This is the ruby red I grew from  seed from a fruit I bought at Publix back in 2005 i believe. I have another one in the back yard the same size. They produce hundreds of fruit every year that are of excellent quality.

Citrus General Discussion / Very sad news.
« on: May 12, 2019, 02:58:43 PM »
I got a email from Petr Broza today. Here is part of it. What a absolute shame...

<<Hello Laaz

I send regular emails and information. But your email often returned right as
undelivered. Many addresses, but I don't know which is functional.

Two disasters came to the greenhouse:
- herbicide in topping water. Eliminated most of the varieties in the container.
- a greenhouse fire. The wood was burning next to the stove. two cubic meters of
wood ...
High temperature and poisonous smoke destroyed above ground parts of strong
plants even in soil ...

At present, the plants in the soil have grown again. Only the base bottom
variety. Other varieties on the branches died. I have health problems and
therefore I will not restore a large collection.
I'll send some photos>>

Where do these scammers come from? BH are seedless... Looking for a scam on ebay? Pretty much anything with "Heirloom or Organic" in the title is a scam.

And he brought up my variegated flying dragon. I've had this thing since 2005 I think. It has never flowered or fruited. Damn slow ass grower as well.

Citrus General Discussion / Meyer lemon, why?
« on: May 04, 2019, 08:35:17 AM »
Why is it everywhere you look, Meyer lemon is the main variety available? Meyer is the nastiest worst excuse for a lemon there is. The one I had years ago was sent to the chipper ASAP...

Citrus General Discussion / Container Soil Mix.
« on: April 26, 2019, 03:02:49 PM »
So I've had a few people ask me about my soil mix. It's pretty much a 50 / 50 mix of Miracle Gro garden soil & Turface MVP with some clay balls thrown in as filler. (If you're in Europe you will use Seramis as it's pretty much the same as Turface MVP)

So here goes. By the way, this mix is impossible to over water...
