Nice Oscar, that looks on the smaller side for a Lucuma. Is this the expected size for this selection?
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

I think De Seda (moist type) in usually smaller than de palo (dry Type).

It's smaller than it should be. This tree has been rather sickly. Had termites in it and i though it would croak, but sprung back. Also i don't think they like heavy rainfall, coming from very dry climates originally.

It's quite old, i forget exactly. Was hand carried by a friend from Peru, who told me it's one of the best tasting types. But i've ignored it and it got shaded out by other trees. Didn't think it would ever really fruit here.

Sounds very tasty, would love to buy a seed or two if it was available in the future.

Canistel don't have the concentric circles around the tip end, like this lucuma. But you're right in that they're close kissing cousins species. ;) I'm pretty sure you can graft lucuma onto canistel and that it will be compatible. That would be good way to preserve this cultivar: name unknown.

Fruits look great Oscar, I have been trying to get bud wood off of you from this tree for a couple years now. Maybe now that it's healthy we can finally make that happen. I have plenty of lucuma rootstocks to work with and I think this cultivar would do great here in San Diego.

Looking forward to a review on your clone of lucuma.  How much fruit is the tree carrying?  Any chance you will be offering some seed for sale?
