$200! My local nursery got like 30* grafted  butterscotch sapodilla for $75 each and that still expensive to me.

And ain't this just a Zill plant? They released it in 2019. So, maybe rare because not enough nurseries have started selling it yet? Assuming that's what being sold, I'd guess ALL Butterscotch Sapodillas are graft.

I think the idea was to hustle these to people outside of FL who are on the hype train with no other way to buy a ticket to ride.

i only had five plants and yes they are rare, zills only releasing like 10 to 20 trees per nursery per year. they are very hard to graft low success rate, i normally determine prices by ebay after all hard core collectors pay big dollars for the best. sold out for now but pm me for a waiting list option never know maybe some one backs out of one

Would anyone want to buy one from a local nursery for cheaper and mail it to me? I can pay you for your time as well.

You need to learn the definition of rare and ripoff.  They are not rare or ultra rare and $200 for a tree of the size you posted is an absolute total ripoff.

I would be interested for a lower price.

At the size of the tree in the original post, it is most likely in a weak and fairly fragile state (saps that small do not yet have a well established root system).  I am not sure how that would handle and survive shipping.

I grafted sapo late Sept.
Keep leaves on scions.
Mine had 4-19 leaves depending on scion size.
Bag grafts.
Give them sky light.
No sun light!

Got 5/6.

Good luck with your next year grafts.

Tsk–tsk–tsk!  Way too rich for my blood!

I'll wait 'til the prices come down –and I'm sure that they will, eventually.

Meanwhile for that $200 bucks I am sure I can buy myself some eight or ten other interesting tropical fruit trees.

Gouge-me-not!
