Gradually expose to full sun to prevent sunburn (It was growing in FULL Alabama sun here)
Mix lots of organic matter in the (large) planting hole...
Mulch well. Really well.
Water regularly for the first few weeks until it is established.
Lower 30s should not be a problem temp wise.
You can always throw a sheet or light tarp over it if you are worried on below freezing nights.
I left my mature Cherry of the Rio Grands (in containers) out all this winter as an experiment and they did fine.
It got down in the teens a few times too.
Or you can do like me... grow it in a large container and bring it in the greenhouse for the winter.
