Should Rollinia seeds float? Mine did. I planted them, but don't have much hope for them. D

Hi, can anyone help w/Pokeweed's question?
I took the rollinia seeds from a fruit grown in homestead I bought recently, they haven't been sitting for a long time. Give it some time and contact me through DM if you aren't happy w/the seeds.

annona and rollinia seeds can float or sink and still germinate. annona seeds can be viable 1-2 years but seems rollinia and soursop are more tropical and last less...like 6 months max if kept cool..outside less only a few months i guess. but yeah i will tell you i've bought seeds from ebay and they rot so i had to get mine from fruit lovers and they all germinated.
i've also received annona seeds from a seed bank here in dominican republic. i will tell you the results.
annona glabra=all germinated
annona urbaniana=all germinated
annona montana=none has germinated
rollinia mucosa(a local/wild and seedy type)=none has germinated

Hi Julie, I generally expect viable seed to sink, and these all floated. I soaked them and the put them in soil. They will either sprout or not. I was just curious. D

I had a sugar apple and saved the seeds. Every one of the seeds floated and seemed to feel "light". I assumed they weren't viable but chucked them all in a single pot with soil. They all sprouted.

Rollinia seeds usually float, but some can sink too.
You can check seeds viability by gently pressing the seeds, if still hard it will sprout for sure, if you feel it's hollow, seeds are no more viable.
