The full text is available from

The article suggests this pummelo hybrid will recover from occasional freezes with new growth from old wood, but current growth up to two or three years old will be destroyed by frost - just like other pummelos.
This seems to imply that it would not survive annual winter freezing if attempting to grow it in non-citrus climate zones.

What is important to me in that paper is that US 145 has produced superior seedlings.  Not that US 145 is good in itself, in Florida.

Only one of its progeny is described in details: 17-11,  but never  released.
It seems to be a little bit more hardy than US119.
Best regards,

I am wondering about this statement in the article about US 145

"US 145 is one of only two citrus -- that has demonstrated superior combining ability to produce selections from BC. progeny with one-quarter P. trifoliata inheritance that combine ..."

Is this saying that getting F2 from a back cross to the F1 hybrids are not easy to obtain, or does it mean that in the resulting F2 are not cold hardy or fit to eat?

thanks!

this means that US145 backcrossed with Thong Dee produced higher rates of seedlings with edibility and cold hardiness (combined in the same seedling) than backcrosses of other Poncirus hybrids.

I did a taste test of the Kiyomi, Dekopon/Sumo, and Thong Dee to compare the Thong Dee fruit.
Here's my taste test results:
1. Sumo, best taste-sweet with slight acid
2. Thong Dee, good-not as sweet as sumo, but very good taste with no acid/tartness. Typical pomelo firmness and flavor. Tastes better than Chandler, Mato Buntan, Reinking, Chironja, Tahitian.
3. Kiyomi, juicy and mildly sweet (7 out of 10), least flavorful of these

Some photos below. First 4 people to request seeds will get them (around 10 each).

sc4001992,

If still available, I would appreciate if I can have some seeds?

Could you direct me how to provide the address to you?
