Peanut butter fruit
« on: July 11, 2020, 08:55:15 AM »

My sole plant gets to this stage and then they drop.  Are these buds or flowers?  For the past several months, they are blooming and dropping off.  Is the plant lacking any nutrients?

So far, I was lucky in that a single fruit set in June.

Please suggest how to increase yield of these fruits.

What growing zone are you in?

I live in Chennai, India.  My location is mentioned in my profile.

What is your humidity?

The graph below shows the average humidity fora year in Chennai.  Is humidity too much or not enough?

My two trees have always started to flower in the Spring but set fruit now in the
humid Summer? Our humidity now is like your December humidity.

I think it is similiar to what you are now 50%-60%
For 3 years my trees have started setting when our rainy humid season
kicks in. My trees were flowering since March and April with very little
fruit set. Has your tree ever set fruit?

For the past week, the humidity ranged from anywhere between 60% - 90% here.  So, what is the ideal temperature and humidity for fruit to set.  The second photo in the first post is the only fruit that has ever set for me.  As for the first photo, are those buds or flowers?

How old was your tree from seed before it started showing buds?

I got one from Logees and it fruited shortly after I received it.  It was about 2ft tall.  I am assuming it was 2yrs old at that point

My seedling also fruited at 2-3 years old. It is larger and produces more
fruit then my other tree which was grown from a cutting

here's a shot of the new flowers starting to set
