Are they true to seed?

I have not grown Dream seeds specifically, but I don't know of any Atemoya or Cherimoya that is true from seed. That being said, it is my understanding that anonas typically produce acceptable fruit from seed. However, you may need to hand polenate to get fruit.

Depends on where you get your seeds as well.
If someone is hand-pollinated multiple trees you are likely to get a random hybrid.

The jury is out on whether its an Atemoya or Cherimoya and that will also have a hand in how stable the genetics are.

No harm in giving it a shot though.

Hasn't it been stated definitively that if it were pure or true cherimoya it wouldn't produce fruit in Florida, so it has to have some sugar apple in its genes?

I haven't seen any genetic test posted here so i can't be 100% sure as to what it is.
I do have my own suspicions but I don't care enough to pay the money for a proper test.
Also, Wayne Clifton, the person who introduced it, claimed it to be a Cherimoya

On a side note, there are a few cherimoyas that fruit here.
Not saying its even worth it but it has been done

The dream variety looks like it has some atemoya in it.  Its definitely got a smaller skinnier leaf structure than every other cherimoya type Im growing.  Only my atemoya types look similar.  I noticed it took a few weeks longer to flush out here than cherimoyas.  Just like the atemoyas.
