I can't tell the difference (new variety in your palm?), but now I know why my berries start shriveling within hours of picking!

I think all the ones here are the football shaped type MF. Is there a difference in leaf size/shape between the 2 types of MF?

Does one variety grow faster or produce more fruit?

I bought a plant on Saturday.  There were two types : One had curled leaves and the other as rounder. The fruit tasted the same except for one had a thicker skin.  Maybe these types are like yours?  I had no idea there was any variation at all.

LOVE miracle fruit, by itself -I can eat a whole bowl  :)

not sure,

I'd have to see plants.

I eat miracle fruit like cherries, about 50 at a time.

They are falling on the ground by the thousands here in central FL.

they make a nice crunching noise when you step on them.

Did you see how much they sell for on Amazon.com?

BTW, how old does a tree have to be to bear fruit?

Locally, you can buy beautiful miracle fruit plants, bearing size,  cheaply.   That is , if you don't want the thrill of planting one from seed.  :)

how much?

how cheap?

They cost about $40 for a 3ft tall tree, in a one gal pot...and thats the cheapest I've seen them

I sell airlayers sometimes for $10-15 for a 10inch airlayer.

$35 for a 3 gallon, approximately 3 feet tall, many with berries.

I just saw some beautiful miracle fruit plants dirt cheap at Hilo farmer's market. They were in 6 inch round pots about 6 inches tall, perfect condition, for a measly $3. I was tempted to buy them all even though i already have plenty.

Miracle fruit is a true miracle!  Today, I ate a large and plump pitangatuba rigth after I had eaten a miracle fruit berry! It was an absolutely fantastic experience.  I strongly recommend growing a miracle fruit bush in a pot!

Sounds like the growers overcompensated for the shortage from 5 years ago. They're still costly here in CA.
