Mango sprout question
« on: March 01, 2020, 10:42:17 AM »
When a polyembryonic seed sprouts more than one sprout, should I thin to the strongest?  Should I let nature take its course?  Can I save both sprouts?  Is that even worth the trouble?  I would rather end with one than none as this is a seedling from a tree I have been wanting to get ahold of for some time.

Keep both sprouts. There is no sure way to tell which is the clone of the parent tree. Let them both grow and fruit. You should get 2 different types of mangoes if one is a clone and the other is sexually reproduced. Good luck!
