That's a nice looking plant, I'm tempted but I know I don't need another one.

I can't vouch for 14°F but I planted two similar sized seedlings in the ground in February after hardening them on my patio for a few weeks. They experienced multiple hard frosts (lowest around 25°F) including back to back nights with a high of 33° in between, and they suffered some damage but are flushing new growth. So definitely they are at least frost tolerant. I encourage other zone pushers to give this species a try along with me!

Good looking plants. I am awash with P. longipetiolatum seedlings myself, otherwise I would take you up on this sale.

With a reputed cold tolerance of 14°F, if our winters get too much warmer, you and I could be growing this species outside. As it is, I get single digit lows at least a couple of times each winter in my location.

Thanks W. I haven't really thought about cold hardiness of these. Gonna try planting a few outside to as it hasn't really gone below 15 for the last few years. Probably could get by with just a frost cloth. Anyways, this plant should be really great for those in marginal zones. Thanks everyone for their interest. The one listed above is sold. However, if you are interested in this plant, I have one up for sale on ebay.
Bid starts at $1, no reserve pricing. Whoever wins this one is probably in for a big steal!!!

Good luck on your auction. I hope you have better luck selling Psidium longipetiolatums on eBay than I did. They sold but not for an amount commensurate with their rarity, in my opinion.

Nice plants! I’d try to get the one that’s left if I didn’t have plants of my own. They’re just sprouting-how fast did your plants grow? Mine are currently very slowly developing their first true leaves.

Yeah I feel like the Psidiums are really not valued very highly.  Most people don't seem to take too much interest in them.  I think Psidiums are some of the coolest due to their huge diversity!

You are right about that. I am not sure why, though, particularly compared to jaboticabas and Eugenias. Psidiums fruit faster than most, if not all, jaboticabas and Eugenias. They have enough diversity to justify collecting many different species and varieties. They can be kept relatively small for container growing. They have nice looking foliage. But, none of this was reflected in the interest (or lack thereof) in my longipetiolatums and striatulums.

I cannot speak for Jaboticaba45, but my plants grew very quickly. I do not believe they spent more than a few days in the cotyledon stage. You may be having problems due to the summer heat. Mine germinated last winter. They were indoors (of course), on a heat mat, in a room that was 70-something degrees. So, they were protected from temperature extremes, both hot and cold, until they were a few months old. But, your newly-germinated seedlings could be having problems with 90-something degree heat.
