so after 2 months of literally nothing happening, my pickering finally gave new growth, over the course of 4 days it gave 3 little branches and started a new vertical growth section.
my current dilema is as follows:
should i cut off the vertical leader so the plant puts all the energy into the branches? id like to keep the tree as bushy and wide as possible. its currently in an 8ish gallon decorative pot with plenty of drainage.
on the other hand i can let the vertical leader continue to grow and when its bigger, try grafting it onto some root stock i currently have growing, my only concern with doing this is that ive lost a mango in the past after pugging it and i really dont wanna take that chance as im actually really digging the look of the pickering.
my cogshall and sugarloaf are both tall and lanky and id like to avoid that with my pickering at all cost, id like the tree to be about 6 to 8 feet tall when all is said and done.
