Can anyone help me ID a friend’s tree? It’s like a gooseberry/grape tree.

黃皮 in Chinese. Wampee...
They are almost ready for pick.
My tree is still flowering, the fruits are pretty small.

Many thanks. The taste was okay and his tree has quite a few fruit and it takes the cold weather without problems. I’m going to try and grow one from seed.
