Hello, not new just been gone for a few years. I lost all my trees in hurricane Irma in 2017 and haven't had the will to replant. I recently moved to Hawaii and am planning on starting my fruit tree collecting again.

I tried a few 3 years ago, and they were doing good in huge pots. We planted a few in the ground at Grimals grove also. The ones in the ground did ok until they hit the native soil, once the roots hit the limestone soil they died.
Unfortunately hurricane Irma washed them all away before they could be fruited.

Good luck with your gardening!
Thank You

A great comeback, you cannot keep a good man down.  Same for Fruitlovers with his Hawaiian volcanoes and corrosive, poisonous gasses venting.
Yes Sir!

The Pink ones are a Finger Lime/Key Lime cross.
The Finger Lime was pollinated by the Key Lime.
I know this because the seeds came from a Key Lime fruit that was growing near my Finger Lime.
Thank you Bumble Bees!

Kevin

What is the inside of the finger lime like?

Very happy that you got your house back in shape.  I have to ask the obvious questions.  Don't you worry about sea level rise and how it will affect your location and plans?  Are you experiencing any effects so far?
Thank you
I am not experiencing any effect.yet. but I raised my lot by 6-8 inches.
Wow. How did you accomplish that?
They were doing a lot of underground utility work and got a good deal on 60 yards of dirt

Much respect for your resilience and tenacity.
Best of luck with your next plant out.
I’d be glad to send seeds or cuttings for free if I have anything you want to grow.
Thank you, I will let you know!

Hi all, I have not posted or been on this forum for a few years. When Hurricane Irma hit in 2017 it washed away all my trees. When I returned there was nothing left but a stump from my breadfruit tree that someone cut down and a small patch of Saba bananas. It has taken me a few years to rebuild my house but now that I am finished I am starting again.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: cherimoya seeds black or brown?
« on: November 29, 2019, 06:49:23 AM »
I dont have any experience with cherimoya but with the other anonas i have grown the seeds turn brown when they dry out. I would just plant them out and see what grows. Once they have secondary leaves they should be easy to tell id it is a sugar apple or cherimoya.

should be fine.

+1 sorry forgot to mention that.

I use it all the time with no ill affects, I rinse it a little and spread it around the trees. There isn't as much salt it in as people think. I mulch with sea grass and seaweed 2" thick, 4 times a year.

I like a 15-20 deg, more maintenance, but the added sharpness is worth it to me. I use about the same angle on almost all of my knives grafting or not.

I would leave it alone for a few weeks and see if recovers.
