If you find any more fruit, can you put me on waiting list? Thanks.

The stands look super sturdy and nice. Can I ask how are they being propped up like that? :)

Hello. Tea plants should be easy to find. These are some places I found established plants after a quick search online.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Is pitomba worth growing for the fruits?
« on: September 27, 2019, 09:44:54 AM »
I have one growing away very slowly...hopefully it will fruit one day :P I have never allowed the soil to dry out and I think the humidity here helps out also. It recently started pushing out new growth after months of stalling. Seems very prone to getting scale insects and maybe they are contributing to its slow growth.

Very cool, Simon. Looks like the surface root is in the perfect spot for sunbathing!

Sayyid,

That's a shame, sorry to hear about that. The POS didn't go for the last one because he knew his face would have been revealed!

Congrats guys. :)

Were they self-fruitful? I have read mixed opinions on whether they are monoecious or dioecious.

It takes many months to get them rooted and growing but I will make more.  Can also sell cuttings for a buck if you guys want those.  What I do is fill a 1gal pot with potting mix then stick 5 or 6 cuttings in and stick it in the shade.  Usually a few of them spring roots and take off the rest die off.   So if you get a bunch of cuttigs its likely you would get some takers.

He said he's selling cuttings for a dollar. Brad, I'll take a few cuttings too, along with some avocado scions. I'll PM you. :)

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Is Angie a Top-Tier Mango?
« on: June 29, 2019, 11:39:59 PM »
I haven't tried many mango varieties besides the common supermarket finds, but I recently had an opportunity to try some cool ones offered by Sayyid. The Angie was by far the best tasting out of the bunch. It ripened up perfectly from green to a beautiful orange-red and the inside was sweet and fiber less.

Off topic...the Cac was also a delicious mango with a flavor reminiscent of lychee towards the skin. Very interesting flavor with some acidity to balance out the sweetness!
