This fruit came from a friend's tree in the neighborhood. He fertilizes heavily all his trees, but for some reason this 1 papaya tree produces fruits 5x bigger than any other ones he has. As you can see all the fruits are big, not just 1 oddball.
The fruit tasted amazing, none of the "vomit" taste ive seen attributed to papayas, and also ripened while still mostly green as you can see with the fruit on the counter, so less likely to be attacked by birds and other animals. This fruit was around 15 pounds, but the rest on the tree are bigger. As you can see it also has limited number of seeds compared to the hundreds you find in small papayas.
