I have young plants available. They are very tasty. Almost better than Marang.

52
Good luck. It's one of my many dream plants to have.

You may as well grow all the goodies.

Allspice
Bay
Clove
Cinnamon
Curry
Gingers
Galangal
Tumerics
Grains of Paradise
Cardamom
Nutmeg
Black Pepper
Vanilla

Annual spices such as Cumin, Black Cumin, and Black Sesame. Don't forget pepper plants... The spice of life.

54
I would like to grow some of these if you possibly have any for local pick up.

Thank you, John. Now I can label it. I just recently gave it some manure and it is looking really good.

I was going to try this on some Fe'i when I can make a little more time for myself.

58
Sure. I also give farm tours in exchange for people buying from our nursery.

I havnt noticed it die back yet. Just keeps pushing runners. The most recent one I planted hasnt pushed new growth yet.

We do have fire ants... But a cutting will be clean. Let me know when you are willing to visit. I will be home all day today.

I've found several of these. Very rare... Going back to a tree I did recently in about 6 months. I will get a photo from my friend. I didn't think the flavor of the water was anything special.

Any semi-woody stems will easily root from cutting. I have to make sure to keep them off the ground when I use them as coppoce.

I have some low bearing Malay trees that are still young. One of the things I look most forward to. We have a lot of so-so coconuts here... So finding and planting the superior ones if my best bet.

The plant never came with a tag. But I got the plant from Jim West. Not sure if there is any available information on it.

I've gathered seeds and keiki from an unkept tree that is very densely shaded. Seems to do well in those conditions. I also have a young Monkey Cola which is starting to look good.

65
I believe mine is densely shaded out. Planted my original under a mature Ulu. Took several cutting and planted them into the full sun. Only time will tell now.

I live for coconuts.

67
Most Polynesian introduced bananas have great quality flowers. Iholena produce a great nectar.

68
1. Fe'i banana

2. Durian

3. Chupa-Chupa.

4. Salak

5. Chempedak.

Hard to say really. Coconuts are at the top of the list also, but I suppose they don't count.

69
Not sure how they feel about shipping cane inter island. I know some things are a big no-no.

No big deal. I am on a mission to preserve native species. I have an expanding collection on cane and bananas. So when you get around to making a trip there should be many various types ready to eat.

70
If you come to the Big Island I will give you Hapai cuttings. Not comfortable shipping any though...

I do not know most of the names... But there are a lot of excellent chewing and juicing varieties here. Honomalino, Honua'ula, 'Ie 'ie, Keauhou, Lahi. We have many great cane here.

71
Just for the record... Its mainly used as a decoration piece. The fibre is very hard on them... Also not very good for juicing. There are many other cane worth growing.

72
This is the Bali we have floating around here. It taste very much like a mild pineapple with a hint of strawberry. It is one of my highly favored fruits.

I have young plants of the red and the Bali variant that has a pink hue on the flesh. I have tasted the pink flesh and forgot to take a photo of it. It almost had a rose over tone... Similar to the Bali in flavor. I have not tried the red, heard it is very juicy.

73
Here are some grown on the Big Island.

74
Yeah, try different stages of ripeness to see what you prefer. I have a Plantain that is really good half green/yellow. Perfect sweetness and starch mixture.

The Ice Cream are great cooked for they are slightly sweeter than most bananas. We made flour out of them and it has a very interesting flavor. There are countless things you can do with bananas. Be creative.

75
I eat the greens from the plants and randomly scatter the seeds around.
