Maybe the topic should be which eugenias are worse than surinam? Almost all the eugenias i know are better than surinam.

not many eugenias are currently being grown by nurseries, that I can think of, that are much worse.

I find pitanga very similar in taste to uniflora - but it should have some potential for selection as it fruits early with big fruits. Some of the other common species like stipitata and victoriana are a bit too acidic. E. natalitia is small and too resinous in taste; uniflora is better for sure.
