Can Rollinia be "pugged" like a mango tree
« on: February 12, 2020, 11:09:19 AM »
I have a rollinia I am debating pulling from the yard or trying to restart it. If it is cut about waist or chest high (its about 20ft tall now) will it come back similar to a mango when pugged?

Large cuts on rollinia tend to decay badly!

Rollinia is a fibrous rather than woody tree.. reminds me of muntingia. (Both are a nightmare to run through the shredder.) I have my doubts as to longevity as well. My guess is that the lifespan is probably somewhere around 20 years?

Doesn't seem like the style of wood permits much in the way of nutrient storage.
