Very tasty and rare arazás are starting to ripe here! this is the Psidium season

* Arazá serrano (Psidium longipetiolatum) (feb-march 2020)  Very rare psidium, similar to strawberry guava but hardy to -7 or -8ş C, bigger leaves and taller tree. I like it more than strawberry guava: deeper citrusy taste, the skin is harder. This is my favourite Psidium now along with P. robustum and hybrid Psidium; it has stronger taste. Climate: tropical, subtropical, temperate.

5 seeds, 10 USD ||| 10 seeds, 19 USD ||| etc.

This is a great fruit! Very durable, big and tasty! The leaves are heart shape... very hardy too!   ;D

Hi, I showed Helton the araticus but he told me that they are difficult to ID,

"Good afternoon Marcos!
Very interesting these varieties! It is not possible to identify precisely.
A researcher from the southern region told me that he knows 40 varieties of native araticuns, but they are not and have never even been studied or classified scientifically!
At.
Helton

Note: I take this opportunity to inform you about the launch of the book “Colecionando fruits Vol. 2”
More information at: http://www.colecionandofrutas.com.br/livro.htm"

So maybe we are into some rare ones... Anyway, #1 and  #2 should be Annona aff. neolaurifolia

Campomanesia world:

Sete capotes from Junin are ripening now! Good size and very good taste, similar to oranges. The tree produced for the first time at 3 years old or so, 50cm tall, so I think this is precocious.

Chamba taste report (no seeds for now, sorry!)

Ultra rare species.

About Vitex montevidensis "The fruits are edible and sweet with an incomparable flavor leaving the mouth with the characteristic and appetizing taste, leaving the desire to eat more. The fruits serve to make great wine, as the popular and scientific name indicates; they also serve for the manufacture of liquor. These can be used in the manufacture of sweets and jellies used in cake toppings, chocolate fillings and other delicacies. When pulped and beaten in a blender with orange or tangerine, they produce a refreshing and delicious juice. Nutritional properties have not yet been researched and described. The Tarumă tree is very ornamental and can be used in landscaping of squares, public gardens and avenues. Because the characteristics of the soil are indifferent, they serve very well for the reforestation of degraded areas and mixed reforestation for permanent preservation and feeding of several species of animals, mainly monkeys, shellfish and other parrots that are the main dispersers of the seeds."
http://www.colecionandofrutas.com.br/vitexmontevidensis.htm

Cordia is ultra-rare "THE WELL RIPE FRUITS HAVE A TASTE OF Kaki and are slightly astringent. WITH THE FRUITS AND SEEDS A TYPE OF GUAVA IS MADE WITH NUTS, IE, THE SEEDS TRANSFORM INTO NUTS. FLOWERS ARE ALSO MELIFERAS."

Acanthosyris spinescens NEW species, native to Argentina, it bears very rich and sweet fruits. Slow grower, hardy species, it resist -6şC and likes full sun. The seed is edible cooked, being this characteristic, in addition to the good taste of the pulp, which makes it one of the most interesting native fruit trees of the Cuenca del Plata.
