Lemon tree yellow leaves
« on: November 30, 2020, 09:18:38 PM »
Hello everyone,

I'm so glad that I found this forum.

I have a lemon tree that has yellow leaves. Can someone tell me what might be the issue?

From looking at the leaves, your tree has a magnesium deficiency.  The leaf symptom of a magnesium deficiency is: leaves show a green delta shaped  centered in the leaf center, with yellow on the outer sides.    A tree of your trees age should be fertilized 3 times a year with a fertilizer containing magnesium.  To correct this deficiency completely dissolve 4 oz. Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) in a gallon of WARM water and spray the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves.  Adding 1 ounce of a good surfactant to the gallon will also help greatly.  This solution can also be applied to the root zone, but a foliar spray will work quicker..  Severely damaged leaves might not return to totally green, but new growth should be OK.  Do this three or four times per year.  Do not apply at high temperatures or low humidity.  Apply in morning or late afternoon.
