I dont know about carmen really i only have a couple immature trees.  So far thry have only made fruit 1X per year.
Brad….I’ve heard that in SoCal… the Carmen Hass is a consistent producer every year, whereas the Hass is more of an alternate bearer.  But would be nice if we could get 2 crops from Carmen.  But I take consistent every year anytime.

LZ has more “wavy” leaves.  Many of us near you have LZ, if you want scions.  We are nearing the end of grafting season.  Send PM if interested in LZ scions now.

What a bargain John!... I should enlist you to make trees for me.   ;D

The tree is now about 7 feet tall.
I thought it would be way bigger than that after all these years.
I was told it hasn’t fruited yet, but probably should by next year... being 7 years old already.

It’s at a friend’s place in Glendora.  Will get a report/update soon.  I haven’t seen it in years.

Thank you all for participating in this year's sale.  I know that folks on the waitlist could not be accommodated.   Hence, I will attempt to make more trees in June for sale next year.

As of 4/25/21, I haven't heard back from 2 interested parties in San Diego (Kuhyay and Heavenly).  Please PM me so we can arrange a pick up.
If not, I may have revert to the backup reservation list in early to mid-May...that list is 4 long, so the last 2 WP trees will go for sure. Thanks.

11
As of Sunday, 4/18/21, half of the trees have been picked up.
I have heard from 1 more today, but 3 others I am waiting to hear back from you.

12
Distribution has started 4/16/21.  For the 8 original identified WPs reservations, please PM me (if you haven't already done so) by 5/1/21.
I've heard the PM system may not work reliably.
But you can also send me an email (listed in my profile info).
Otherwise, you should have received a PM from me with my contact information.
Thanks.

Paypal payment sent for 2 non-perfs .  Thanks for coordinating Behl!

UPDATED 4/04/21:

For those of you that reserved the 8 White Pirie (WP) and 1 Juicy Peach (JP) mango trees...

I will start distribution on/after April 16, 2021.

I've reduced the prices after a reassessment of the trees.  There are 7 WP trees in 5 gal pots and 1 WP tree in 3 gal pot, and 1 JP tree in 3 gal pot:  The trees are very small in comparison to most Florida bought trees.  They are all on Kent rootstock, which have been shown to be decent in CA.  They are also in a great 50% perlite and 50% peat moss acid mix.
5gal potted WP $60
3gal potted WP $50 (reserved for othater)
3gal potted JP $50 (reserved for Jeffh)
The PPK is no longer available and removed from the list.
The Alphonso is no longer available and removed from the list.

I can accept Paypal prepayment or cash that day.   Those on the reserve list have all been sent a PM with my contact and payment info.
Thanks you for being patient during these Covid times.

There are 4 on the waitlist in case there are any cancellations:

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Wtb seedless guava

The Crystal I have is not completely seedless, but close to it when you compare to a regular guava.  Maybe less than 15 per fruit.  But the seeds are edible and don’t bother me.
A friend told me that his Crystal appeared to have more seeds than expected....and I do recall reading somewhere that a seedless variety can get more seeds if there is a another pollinating variety (non-seedless) nearby.

Crystal seedless guava is from Malaysia.  It is not a Taiwanese variety.  Also, Crystal leaves are not really round.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Which is the best tasting seedless guava?
« on: December 23, 2020, 12:06:13 AM »
Several of my friends and I grow only Crystal seedless.  I can’t personally say if it tastes better than other seedless varieties, but two of my friends vouch that Crystal is the best.  I found that it gets sweeter as it gets softer.  But while eaten when crunchy, it is well balanced...slighty sweet with a little tartness.

You can try Champa nursery in El Monte, but I don’t recall if Jimmy at Champa has them.  Best to give him a call.
Btw, I recall someone once telling me that Tropical Bonsai Nursery (Charlie) is the house/property next door to Champa, but I have never independently verified this.
Perhaps you can try Mimosa(East LA), but I have always felt their prices were quite high.
Unfortunately, you have desired an item that has a somewhat limited number of local vendors, and hence, commands a higher price.

I will have 8 Hawaiian White Pirie mango trees for sale (local buy only) in spring 2021....after the covid pandemic subsides a little.
They are in 2, 3, or 5 gallon pots.
They were cleft or veneer grafted onto Kent rootstocks.
They vary in size from 2-3 feet tall at this time.
They have been grown in a 50/50 peat moss and perlite mixture.
The price will likely be between $50-$80.

I am putting a feeler out there, as there is limited stock.
Please let me know if you are interested in reserving one.
Thanks.

There are also small trees of alphonso (5gal pot), juicy peach (2gal pot), and PPK (5gal pot).
