i think some people just don't know how to eat them, and get them too early, and that is why u hear so much about flavor quality variation...all the ones i've encountered are sweet, u just have to let them ripen all the way, don't eat them when they're still yellow/green, it has to be fully colored and getting soft.
congrats on the fruits, i got them planted out here, but freezes of 2017 hammered them down to the ground....now they are coming back, after being only roots for almost a whole year...very strong plant handling temp range of about 23F-110F, floods and drought
