Would be pretty nice. The flavor is quite good, but there's not a lot of flesh, and given the amount of vitamin C fresh fruit would otherwise be quite tart. Seed is quite hard also. I've only had the fruit in powdered form, which did have sugar added. Not the best fruit for fresh eating out of hand I imagine, but definitely a worthy addition to any collection given how well it reduces to powder and how nutrient rich it is. Tough plant that can handle very excessive heat/ sun exposure, but needs good drainage.

There is one temperate fruit plant that is comparable to Acai in terms of anti-oxidants and is worth growing but only if you live in a cold temperate climate. 

It won't survive long term in a subtropical climate like Florida because it requires a certain number of chilling hours. 

Aronia melanocarpa (Black Chokeberry) should be grown by anyone that lives in the Southeastern USA excluding all of Florida, most of Louisiana, coastal areas like the Gulf and Carolinas. 

 It's best to check your USDA zone.
