Mystery plant

Found this growing next to a mango seedling in my backyard so I potted it up. I've searched several identification sites trying to figure this out to no avail. Its growth rate is medium and I'm in 10b. Anyone!?

Leaves are alternate growing
Exstipulate - no stipulate
Leaves are unifoliate, but the first two leaves were trifoliate and have since fallen off
Leaf margin: entire
Leaf apex: acuminate
Leaf venation: reticulate unicostate

It kinda reminds me of a gumbo limbo seedling (Bursera simaruba)

B.acerifolius are all over the hills near my place and the seedlings look nothing like that with acer like foliage.

I believe you are right. The first two leaves looked identical to this reddit thread, where they also said gumbo limbo. Are they useful?
