Mango repotting vs pruning

(1/1)

Herman:
So is it best to repot and prune a mango at the same time, or separate those tasks by a few weeks/months?

Thanks!

Herman

FlyingFoxFruits:
sometimes its best to go ahead and prune when you  repot, for two reasons in particular...

One being that you will have access to root, and be able to prune them if needed.

Also when repotting and or, rootpruning, it can be beneficial to prune branches up top at same time.

Removal of leaves and branches, helps deal with shock of pruning roots, and or repotting plants in general.

GOOD LUCK!  Mango is a very easy tree to prune, and repot...not sensitive like some garcinias, and annonas.

it should be easy.

Hi Herman, I've potted and trimmed mine at the same time too... but I did it in August. I didn't have any problems. I'm thinking warm weather would be best and might be less stress to the tree .  Good luck!

Thanks ASaffron and puglvr1!
