Can I germinate all kinds of seeds in one medium?
« on: May 11, 2013, 05:45:34 AM »
Hi there!

I have a question which might be funny but - can I germinate all kinds of seeds in just one moist sterile medium? I have a big kind of bowl where I germinate usually seeds of one kind at a time, but when lots of seeds come into my collection, I am wondering if I could germinate all in one space, only of course somehow divided in the open moist medium (I am germinating in coconut peat). Could some seeds affect others or is it just a matter of space? I keep a lot of space for each of the seeds. Thanks for any replies. :-)

every species has its own preferred perimeters.  in short, maybe and no.  so species are similar.  i personally germinate most easy to die tropical fruit in sphagnum moss, but there is so much variation in the plant world no aspect is ever universal.
