Hello

Just bought 3 fresh fruits in a market here in Bangkok.
So if you want really fresh seeds let me know perhaps we can swap something

Got some more seeds but this is the last of them.
In typical Thai style they unfortunately butchered the tree to get the fruit (mind you tree is about 40 foot) so will not be fruit for TWO YEAR

$2.50 per seed plus $5 postage which includes tracking number.

PM with orders.

Very rare seeds, great fruit like a cross between a lychee and rambutan. Extremely sweet and very similar in appearance to lychee but more oblong in shape.

Family: Sapindaceae

Synonyms: Nephelium cochinchinense, Nephelium longana var. hypoleuca
Korlan is a native of South East Asia.  This fruit found growing wild in most South Eastern Asian countries.  The trees are also planted in some countries particularly Thailand and Malaysia.  The fruits are also offered for sale at local fruit shops at some places.
Korlan has, however, not travelled to other countries outside South East Asia.

Description:

An evergreen tree, upto 30 m tall, trunk 1.40 m in dia, with buttress upto 1.5 m tall.

Leaves, 1-5-jugate, petiole 3-16 mm cm long, petiolules 5-11 mm, leaflets 6.5-30 cmx2-8 cm, 2-4.5 times as long as wide.
Inflorescence terminal and axillary, male and female flowers sometimes in the same inflorescence; petals 0-6, stamens 7-10, pistil 2-3-merous.

Fruit ellipsoid, 2-3 cmx1.5 – 2.25 cm, densely warty, warts upto 1.5 mm high, red., borne on loose pendant clusters.

Utilization:

Korlan fruits, which are like litchi fruits, are eaten.  The seed is said to be poisonous.  The fruits are also offered for sale at some local markets.
Cultivation:

New plants of korlan can be raised from seed.  Asexual propagation can be done by air layering.

Mike yes that is the one but I got these seeds from a tree in Trat.
Promise eaten them myself they are extremely sweet much more so than lychee or rambutan.
It is one of the sweetest fruits I have ever eaten.
Propogated no, locals told me it grows in the forest and is known locally as the forest or jungle lychee.

Mike

The Mayong Chid are selling for B300 a kilo at the moment, I guess the price will come down as the season kicks in.
Problem is the season can end so quickly, last year they were bearly in the markets for a few weeks and then gone.

12
Mike

Not bigger than the Mayong  the ones I have are on average 6.5cm long  4.5cm wide with each fruit weighing about 60g.
They taste fantastic. The Kai are a bit smaller and sweet.
They are duck egg size the same as in the pic comparing the two.

13
Seeds now available for sale.

Smaller sweet variety 'Kai' Maprang $1.45 per seed
Larger sweet variety 'Mayong Chid' $1.90 per seed
Can discount a bit for large quantities.
plus postage as they are big seeds.
PM me with orders, questions and say hello.

I guess $0.25 per seed they are real hard too find.

Anyway someone can let me know if too cheap or too expensive

Orders  come with free shipping  worldwide.

Really unusual fruit inside like chocolate mousse and sweet.
