Citrus Buy, Sell, & Trade / Re: Dekopon Seed
« on: February 23, 2017, 12:41:00 PM »
Garcinia, sorry that was the only seed I have found so far.  However, as I eat the fruit from my tree if I find another I'll send you a private message.

How does it taste?  Can you show us a picture of the tree and fruit?  Mine fruited for the first time last summer but dropped.  It has about 2-3 very small buds now.

Botanicalgrowers.com is a network of growers.  They also sale it on Ebay, but it might not be Kens.  I ordered from them on Ebay once and it was Daves nursery.  Plants arrived on fast and package well.

Go for it.

For led light, hit up coplantnut.  He will be able to help you with LED lighting.  Three of my lemons fruit indoor under LED lights for 9hrs/day.  My lisa spadila are able to flower under the same condition.
How warm does the closet get and how long is the light on each day?

just curious,  how is this variety superior compared to na dai?  Could mang cau dai and na dai the same thing but called differently from different part of the country?  Perhaps both are just different variety of mang cau dai!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Mango recommendation
« on: June 05, 2015, 12:24:58 AM »
I would like to add another mango to my collection but was hoping for some advice.  I am looking for a crunchy and sweet variety instead of ripe and soft.  The mango has to consistently bear fruit yearly with minimal care if possible.  I've searched but got nothing definitive.

From my understanding, Oscar is no longer selling airlayered rambutan, or is that just me.

I've purchased a few tree in the past, and so far, I got what I paid for.  As a matter of fact, I just got a plant fron the last week.  As stated, business will make mistake, it's how they rectify their mistake is the key.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Why do you have fruit trees?
« on: September 19, 2014, 11:47:27 AM »
1. Its relaxing until you see the squirrels get to the fruit before you do or before the fruit is ripe enough to pick.
2. Fresh fruits of the tree.
3. Reminescent of the fruits that I've eaten when I was young boy.
4. To prove to people that I CAN GROW THEM IF I WANTED TO.  I always them, if people can grow weed in their house, why can't   I grow fruit trees?
5.  The look on my family's face when I offer them the fruit actually grown by me and not from the store or another country.

Michsu,

For $50 along with free shipping, that is really cheap.  Other big vendors charge around $30 just for shipping.

You can grow and fruit an Annona squamosal in a pot easily.  Just bring it inside for the winter.

Why must you tease us like that??

After I told her that I just purchase my sapodilla from another vendor, she lowered her price on her sapodilla.

There is another member in Ca that had order from her.  I too have order from her.  The mango tree were large, but the longan did not make it for me.  I am in Pa and it took 3 days to get to me from Fl.
She is slow to response to my email.  I would have ordered her the 2nd time around but due to the slow response, I went with Plantogram.  Mickey takes pictures of the actual plants that I want.

24
Ask Lynn, or you can give plantogram.com a call.

So the 'coc' mango on their website is actually cocker, rather than Cac?  I figured they may have Cac since they have cat chu and cat hoa loc (all vietnamese i believe).  I asked Squam about these 3 a while back.  He said cat chu is the best of the 3 (Cac, cat hoa loc, and cat chu).

FWIW, I thought the Cac mango was very good when i had it at the mango festival a few years ago.

bsbullie (rob) know for sure but I think Cac is same as Coc  (all are Vietnamese, yes)

Cac is the mango, and Coc is not a mango, but Junes Plum in Vietnamese.  I might be wrong, but I have not heard of a Coc mango.
