Citrus General Discussion / Flying Dragon and node count

Is Flying Dragon a quick tree to flower like Lime or a slower one.

Have bought a tree that is 120cm high (and probably 3-4 years old?).

What to expect in time to mature and set flowers/fruits?

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Sunburn

Thanks Millet!

The problem is that it is mainly not the leaves that are damaged, it is the bark on the branches itself that is really burned on the half side of the branch facing the sun. On the opposite side the bark is still green and there are leaves. If these branches with significant bark damage will not heal properly I will cut them off, the question is just how much bark damage that can be healed by a tree.

Hi,

Shall you remove sunburned branches on a Lime tree? The damage was from I being careless when I moved them out in the spring sun without protection. The damaged braches are pencil think and half of the damaged branches are red/Brown/dead and half of these branches are still alive and have leaves from bottom to top.

If they have no prospect of proper recovery I will remove them, there are plenty of undamaged branches left.

Many thanks!

Joel

Citrus General Discussion / Grafting
« on: June 01, 2015, 04:05:02 PM »
I am trying to learn cleftgrafting of citrus now. I have PT as rootstock and Tarocco budwood. I have made some misstakes as removing parafilmtape too quickly.

The PT is around 8-15 inches long to the graft and pencil thick. My questions are:

1) Shall I remove all other leaves on the rootstock?

2) Shall I remove new growth on rootstock below the graft?

3) Shall I keep the plants in the sun?

4) Shall I have them outside (10-20 C night/day) or inside at around 22 C?

My previous grafts made it for avail but the was no new growth and the budwood slowly dried out.

//many thanks for help!

Have been looking for a Golden Nugget in Europe for some time,
seems to be hard to find for sale on internet.

Anyone that knows a retailer that ships abroad and carry GN?
