Hi, Millet It seams that the weather this year is responsible for some problems. I will be attentive if I spot this leaf discoloration in future as in this year the only reason for possible spray during the day can be rain or dew. I found some similar pictures to the pictures I posted in first post of this tread. It might be leaf measles as showed on the web page link below.

Hi! I made an inspection of the tree and found some characteristics that might explain the condition, but still don't know if they are in any connection with my problem. There are small jumping insects (about 2 millimeters) on the leaves. I also found a leaf that shows a kind of discoloration. Anyone that have any ideas?

Hi lorewren. I did not notice any aphids but that does not mean that there weren't any. What bothers me a lot is that it doesn't matter what I check I do not find any similar pictures on the web.

Hi, thanks Millet for your answers, I will definitely follow your advice. Actually I hope it is just a sun burn (it could be from rain drops and possibly the young leaves could be more susceptible to that kind of burns) as I think in long term this would be the most innocent problem to solve. If there will be anything dramatic going on after oil-soap solution spray I will post the findings.

Hi Millet, the last foliar application I did was iron chelates about two months ago (when there was no new growth) and since then I was adding everything strictly to the soil. I suspect some kind of mites (maybe red mite) but did not find any similar picture of red mite damage on the web. Can I make any damage if I spray with oil soap solution if this could help to stop mites (if they are responsible for the condition)? I can also point out that we had daily rain (few times) a day for the last month if that could be the reason?

Citrus General Discussion / Diagnose leaf disease/pest on Lemon tree
« on: June 20, 2016, 04:58:01 AM »
Hi everyone! About three weeks ago I spotted there is something going on on the recent growth of my potted lemon tree. There are three clusters of top growth (leaves) that are affected, otherwise there are no signs anywhere on the plant. I am not convinced if the reason might be pest, disease or nutrition problem as I do not have the experience with that kind of symptoms, so I hope there will be somebody who knows what it is. If anyone recognizes the problem I would also like to know how to deal with it to prevent further damage or eventually to repair the condition.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Benefits of mulch around trees?
« on: March 04, 2016, 04:36:16 AM »
Hi! It is not harmful if the material you used is safe and not chemically treated. Mulch does have a beneficial impact on soil as a humidity retainer and over a longer period of time with a process of decomposition contributes to good aeration of soil and a nutritional levels and prevents the soil to get too compact. But it also works as sponge for nitrogen and usually gardens that are mulched need to be fertilized more often. As you said it is also beneficial in a way of reducing weed growth and makes it easier to remove the weed.

Temperate Fruit Discussion / Re: Hovenia dulcis

Hi! I have a tree of Hovenia dulcis and some time ago I was also looking for any details on care and other characteristics but at that time there was no info about any cultivars. However today I saw your question and checked again and found that there is a cultivar named Poong-Sung 1 that is described as high yield cultivar compared to a original koreana Nakai cultivar.

Temperate Fruit Discussion / Re: Persimmon thread

Hello! I have a question about persimmon fruit disorder of some type but don't know what causes it and would appreciate it if there is anyone who can help with explanation. The problem appeares on fruit as circular black stripes going from side to side not vertically on ripe fruit. So what could be the explanation for that?
