Phalsa is cold hardy.  Mine handle down to 30 degree with no damage.  You can get it from ken nursery.

That's devastating.  Inga, jabco, fejiioa, and jujube should fine. Did your temp went below 30?

Hands down best greenhouse I have seen.  Plus, your trees are fruiting well.  What variety is your mango and soursop?

Gorgeous and inspirational especially growing them in North Cal. I enjoy all the pics and your place is a paradise.

Just curious. In the winter, do you cover your plants from frost? How old is your lucuma and ice cream bean tree?

I am not an expert but rainwater does play part of the lushous growth.  I have seen it with my potted plants after a heavy rain. I think rain water do collect atmospheric gases like nitrates and nitrites and other traces mineral. Not sure if rainwater carries iron.

Greenman62:  I would recommend a macadamia tree.  It can handle the cold pretty well here. For some reason most people like my wife associate macadamiia as tropical tree  because it mainly grown in Hawaii. My tree does really well even with the frost. It stays green throughout the years. .

Mike T and fruitlover:  Thank you for the response. I love the way the tree looks and when the leaves turn red it's gorgeous but not comparable to fall leaves in the east coast (in which I spent 3 years in Boston).  I'm going to get it acclimated to the Bay Area weather this year and if it does well I will plant it in front my house. Now that I know it can handle 28 degree but not how long, I might have a better chance growing it outside.  With it's growth, hopefully it will recover from the winter.  If it turns out well then it will go down in th record book.

Hi

I grew this tropical almond from seed for 2 and half years. Now,it's 6 fleets tall!  It has been growing in the greenhouse but with the growing rate I can't keep it in the greenhouse. I had to repot it twice a year.  I have read conflicting information how cold tolerance it is.  One said it's frost sensitive and other source says it can handle to minimum of 30 degrees. Where I live, it  can get down to 30 degrees and below in rare case.  Can anyone let me know how cold can it handle?  Your response is appreciated.

Thanks for the video and Firefox.  The fruit looks like small apricot and taste nothing like it.  The grumichama should handle the cold.  I have grumichama in the ground for 4 years. In the winter, I covers it with a frost cloths and the leaves stay green with little damage.
