This item from Harbor Freight is a very good price, cut up to 3" wood. Not sure if they ship to Virgin Island.

Those are very good advice, and your fruit trees are thriving very well. I'm sure I can implement some of those in taking care of my fruit tree.

Thanks,
Vincent.

Wow, those growth looks amazing. Mine just started to have some leaves.
What kind of weather have you have since you grafted them?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Introduce Yourself
« on: December 15, 2017, 01:16:12 PM »
Hello,

My name is Vincent, I have always enjoy tropical fruit since I was a kid in Vietnam before having to emigrate to US due to Vietnam war. I grew up living in New Hampshire where the growing season was short and no tropical fruit from my childhood can be found. After college I moved to California and eventually moved to SoCal where the climate was closer to Vietnam and able to grow some tropical fruit like guava. I recently having craving for some other fruit and while searching the Internet I came upon this site. Wow such knowledge and information available. So I am currently trying to grow some dragon fruit and have got some seed of sugar apple and trying to grow it in my house.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: When is sugar apple seeds a dud?
« on: December 14, 2017, 11:59:05 PM »
The best way to sprout sugar apple seeds is damp potting soil in full son. The paper towel methods only good for summertime as we are going into cooler months of the year and the success rate will be lower.
I have attached a picture of VSA seedlings. Took picture yesterday and 3 weeks to sprout. I also have to deal with squirrels digging in containers and up root everything  to stash their acorns.

Hi Richard,

I totally agreed with you, but the VSA that I got from you  3 weeks ago have not sprouted yet...hopefully soon.  As for the squirrels digging in containers, I use a wire cage to cover it up.

Kent

Kent,

Did any of your seeds germinate?

I just started my earlier this week of the seeds I got from Richard.
