Tropical Fruit Discussion / Is my tongue a good pollinator?

Making out with flowers!

It feels pretty natural to do...a couple of swirly motions of the tongue and I got my little sugar pollen boost along with maybe more fruit set. Maybe my DNA tells flower what I need in fruit.
Achachairu flowers are sweet...not like they need help with pollination.
Has anyone else ever experienced? Make me feel like a big bee or bat maybe...or a weird perv
I imagine with a big mustache and beard you would be the ultimate flower kisser/pollen holder...isn't that what Hairs on pollinators are for?
Any thoughts?

Aloha!
Well I figured it's time to claim Oscar at Fruitlover's.
As without him I never would have heard of many tasty fruits, let alone have a chance to grow them.
Mahalo for all your efforts to introduce me and others to new flavors of our earth!
It's the first maprangs from my seedling tree that came from Oscar. They were delicious! Sweet and sour flavor like a twangy mango...but with edible skin. Hardly any stringyness, skinny seed.
Everyone loved the fruit who got to taste it. Even my local friends who turn away from most new fruits said we should plant more of these.
The tree is about 9-10 yrs old...it flowered for a while but this year when I saw the first flowers, we quickly let lots of light in on it and mulched, added horse manure and some wood ash.

Is it possible? Grafting different types on an in ground tree? If so what type of graft would work best? To have maybe a male tree with many different species on it? Like Mafai, rambai, tampoi, starfruit of Borneo, etc...and have the female with the same setup next door. So it might look like Christmas tree ornaments when in season.
I do have some in ground extra male trees of rambai and Mafai, it would be a shame to just cut down these extra males.
If grafting does work. my next question...Now I have some Bauccaurea tampoi belimbing starters...would this speed up fruiting if I grafted onto mother rambai tree? if I did several grafts onto mother tree from my seedlings and they happened to be both sexes?

We are planning a new plot for some extreme rarities. The site is pretty protectedfrom wind already,
Was wondering what artocarpus sp work well as a windbreak trees? Yes jackfruit, maybe breadfruit. We do have A wild jack, A sarawakensis, A marang, A chempedak, A chempajak, A pedalai, and a couple more types...thanks to this forum and all the seedsters around the planet.
It will be a three tree thick windbreak, and was wondering where the artocarpus fits in? First row, second row, third?
Any advice is great

Cool looking little palm, literature says its fruit are supposed to be sweet. Maybe we waited a bit to long to taste. Maybe ours is in too much shade?
Anyone else ever eat/grow this palm fruit?

I was wondering if you heard about whats happening on our island of Hawaii. Mass media once again ignoring what the people want.
TMT wants to build a 6 story 30meter (two aloha stadiums on top of each other plus extra parking) observatory on our sacred mountain...many reasons why this should not be done..watershed, illegal to build in conservation zone, most sacred spot on Hawaii island, cleaning the lense will require a mercury swipe, other observatories on the mountain are abandoned, it's already outdated...chile will have a bigger one when finished.
The Hawaiian people are rising up and sticking together...please join us!

Aloha my favorite forum.
Just thought i'd share how we eat mocambo theobroma bicolor nowadays. If more than one fall at a time it's hard to finish all that fruit...not to mention the seed is non bitter cacao like flavored...kinda like a peanut. So we dehydrate them...the fruit ends up tasting more like jackfruit...if you have ever tried a mocambo fresh, it can be kinda slimy, but when dry..no slime.
For all those raw cacao lovers, this is it. No bitterness in seed.
Another welcome addition to our diet.
